A Legacy of Olive Oil

I grew up between two worlds — the hills of Elis, Greece, and the streets of New York. Every trip back home, friends in New York would ask the same thing: “Can you bring some olive oil from your village?” Sometimes it was honey, mountain oregano, or wild tea — but the olive oil always came first. Our family’s story began generations ago with my father and grandfather, who were sheep and goat herders. Scattered among the pastures were a few old olive trees that quietly produced small amounts of olive oil each year. What little we made, we shared — and every time I brought some back to New York, more people asked for it.

Growing Roots and Expertise

Over time, we began to plant more olive trees, slowly transforming the land into what it is today — an active, thriving grove in the hills of Elis. As I learned the soil and rhythm of the trees, I also deepened my knowledge by attending different seminars such as an Olive Oil Sommelier seminar in New York City and the like, where I studied the craft, chemistry, and tasting of true extra virgin olive oil.

Sharing the Taste of Home

That journey became House of Elis — a way to bring the purest taste of home to those who appreciate real, living olive oil. We bottle only when you order, keeping the oil stored naturally in stainless steel, sealed from air and light — so you can experience it just as it tastes here, beneath the Greek sun. For me, House of Elis isn’t just about olive oil. It’s about slowing down, reconnecting to the land, and sharing something honest — a taste that carries a story.
